Weddings & Couples

Christina & Ivan

Christina and Ivan are friends of ours (my wife and I, actually Christina and her work together).  They came to our wedding in Mexico last year, so I was happy to be a part of theirs.

“Thanks, Aaron, for capturing our wedding with such creativity and authenticity! We’re looking for someone like you because first and foremost, you are an awesome artist! You shared our vision right away and made it a reality! Your blog photos are amazing and the USB photos are fabulous! Thanks so much for everything, you truly made us feel comfortable on such a big day!”

This was a quick day; only 4 hrs of shooting, and lots of time spent sitting in traffic downtown.  For such a short day though, we seemed to hit lots of locations, which made for some great shots.  It also helps when working with friends, as then I can be more myself, and not worry so much about having to make a good impression... cause they already know Im great :P  It was also fun to hang out with Ivan for the day, as we are pretty similar people it seems, sharing lots of outlooks on things.   I think I need one of those I ♥ Ivan shirts, too.

I did alot more color pictures for this wedding.  I feel I had somewhat of a break-through regarding color processing, but it seems all my favorites below are still mostly black and whites.  No problem though... Im still happy with all these shots.

Amanda & Steve

The last hurrah for the 2012 wedding season.  A beautiful fall day to wrap up the season.  Even though it was mid November, it was still a warm, sunny day.

This wedding came about for me in a bit of an odd way.  I was hired as a gift to Amanda and Steve by a friend of theirs (and a friend of mine).  I think thats a pretty great gift!  Its the gift of life-long memories.

I was only there for a couple quick hours, but still captured alot of great moments.  Here are a few of my favorite shots...

Krissy & Don

My little sister got married!  It was a great day, and all their hard work and planning realy paid off.  They certainly did take care of every detail, and it showed.  Initially, she hired another girl to take pictures, saying she wanted me there as family and not photographer, and didnt want me to feel obligated to work on her wedding day, but rather be there and just enjoy it.  I told her I was more than happy to bring my camera, and give her a second set of photos as my gift to them.  Im glad I did.  They are a great couple to shoot, and the locations they chose were perfect for a sunny, fall day.  And to top it all off, what other wedding has wedding rings delivered by dog!?  Now I've seen everything... or at least, something new!

When I started editing these shots the other day, as usual, I only intended to put up 20 or so of my favorites.  Perhaps it was because it was family, but I seemed to have ended up with many more this time around.  There just seemed to be so many great moments captured that day!  Enjoy...

PS. My wife did Krissy's hair.  If you need a great hair stylist, go say hello to her...

Julie & (Andrew) Campion

Everyone just calls him Campion.  This was a great day and my first time shooting in the Distillery District downtown.  A lovely church, and great wet cobblestones made for some nice shots, even though the rain did manage to get us a little bit a couple of times.  We ended the day in Balzac's Cafe, which had all sorts of character.  A great old brick and mortar building.  Finally, we were treated to some unscheduled fireworks out over the harbour...
