City Tour Flight

Here is another bunch of photos I've been sitting on for a while.  It was sometime in the spring since you can still see snow on the ground.

Now for some name dropping.... my old friend Scott Wilson asked me if I'd like to go with him for a city tour flight one day back a few months ago.  You may know Scott from such TV shows as Departures, and more recently Descending.

I was surprised that it was actually a bit of a challenge to shoot in such a small space.  I'm used to shooting out the little window of an airline as it floats gently through the clouds, not these little Cessnas that barely have enough room for 2 people in the front, and shake your bones loose (that's a slight exaggeration).

The last time I'd been in a small plane like that I was (or was almost) very sick, so I was a bit nervous, but all went well.  I got to see the house where I grew up, my parents current house, my current house, and of course all the pretty lights over downtown Toronto.  I took a few shots along the way and promised Scott too long ago that I'd post them.  Well I guess that day has finally come! As promised to Scott, here are a few shots from our hour in the skies together...

Clarice & Bud

A perfect way to spend the May 24th weekend.  Lots of sun, perfect temperature, and a wedding to document.  Bud is an old work friend so I generously offered no real time frame on my services that day.  It was a long 15hrs!  We started with hair and make-up downtown in a nice old brick building called The Verity Spa.  Then we all packed into the limo and headed north to the town of East Gwillimbury where the ceremony was held at Sharon Temple, a very old church built by Clarice's great great great great great great GREAT grandfather!  So it definitely had special significance for them.

We wrapped up the evening with dinner and dancing at the Enoch Tuner Schoolhouse; another nice little brick building downtown.  The highlight of the day though was truely the great parking spot I got behind the schoolhouse.  A real gem downtown if ever there was one.  Here are a few excerpts from the day...

Natalie & Moon

This was a short day but was also so my first Korean wedding, and we were treated to a traditional Korean tea ceremony, complete with the throwing of the nuts!  They were a fun couple, and since she also rides an R6 motorcycle like mine, she's OK in my books.  We wrapped up my portion of the day with a brief stroll through the Distillery District.  It was nice to get back in there in shoot again.  Here are some of my favorite shots from the day...

FREE photoshoot!

I'm look for a couple who is interested in participating in a project I am working on.  The couple must be interested in having a free photography session though... so please only inquire if you like free things!  Call it an engagement session, call it just for fun, call it what you will!  There are some small caveats attached to this offer, but I'll discuss those details with the couple upon request.  Ideal availability is July.  So if you or someone you know is looking for a free engagement session, please let them know about this!

EDITAfter getting a few requests, I realized Ill need a way to manage this and decide who to work with that is fair.  Ill leave this is an open request for a couple weeks and when we get into July Ill make a decision based on location, time/availability, etc.  The couple will need to work around my schedule for this project, and that is one of the caveats.
