A project I've wanted to do for a while now, finally done! After having my car interior stripped out for a few years as part of an interior-swap project, I finally got all the pieces together and installed, and it's all back together. Motivated by the fact that I needed to have a car seat in the back for Nash, I knew I had to get important things back in the car, such as rear seats (key!). The original interior color of this car is blue, which I think is a pretty poor choice on Subaru's part, but thats how it goes I guess. Thanks to those who traded or sold me the required black parts (seats, door cars, carpet), as I think the end results look great. So, an hour last night shooting out in the garage, and a few hours of editing today, and this project is in the bag! Next car project will hopefully be an exterior shot when I get all the business branding decals put on. Stay tuned!
Baby Sadey
My wife's friend Vanessa recently had a little girl. After a not-so-great experience with a local photographer (they live in Barrie), she decided to bring the kids down to visit, and get some 2 month shots of baby Sadey while she was here. I had done some shots of her son Seth when he was born a few years ago, so now the tradition keeps going with baby #2. While we were shooting, she told me about how the other photographer doing the newborn photos refused to work with her, saying, basically, 'this is how I shoot, end of story.'. I was pretty surprised to hear of a professional photographer offering up such an attitude to a client. I don't claim to be a business pro by any stretch, but my number one goal when someone is paying me to provide them with a service is to do whatever I can to make sure they have a good experience and are happy with what I provide them. So, I guess the lesson is if your photographer (or whomever) isn't working with you, they're working against you!
Heather & Mike
It seems like quite a while ago that I first met up with Heather and Mike to do their engagement shoot at Paletta Mansion, last fall. It always seems the actual wedding day is so far off in the future, and then before you know it, its here! This was my first time shooting at Liuna Gardens. The ceremony was in a very nice location with a great view out over the water, and, as if on queue, as the ceremony started, we were treated to what seemed like a summer snowfall of white cotton fluffs falling from the trees. Great for pictures, probably not great for getting in people's hair... but that's the price you pay! Another thing great for pictures: DJ's who come equipped with a fog machine! It always helps bring that subtle life to the light at dance time. So thanks mysterious DJ, wherever you are now. Here are some of my favorites from the day...
Josie & Neilson - Engagement
I love working with couples who dont take things to seriously. Josie and Neilson are definitely that type of couple. Admitting constantly that they weren't models and had no idea how to pose, it was a fun session of just letting them be them (with a bit of guidance on my part). Here are a few shots before their wedding, which is fast approaching!
